SIETC was formed with a objective to increase the entry of Korean companies in India and facilitate the Business ties between India and Korea. According to Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, in 2017, near about 40,000 Korean companies entered China while the share of India of the same stood at only 400.
At present, India is also emerging as a good investment destination. Mr Y.K. Lee (MD, SIETC), thinks that the opportunities for Korean companies investment in india is immense and there is no reason why this number of 400 Korean companies cannot be increased to that like of china.
With the motive , SIETC will act as a bridge between India and Seoul promoting , facilitating and expanding Korean Companies entry into India and also their smooth operation. The areas of Co- Operation may further be extended with Government of India plan of SMART CITIES, initiative of electric vehicles and the progress towards industry 4.0 .
